A word from our supportive oversight
A platform for the written word!
We’re proud to introduce the very first edition of the MENA Finance Review, a student-led publication aimed at exploring the financial landscape of our region through fresh perspectives, thoughtful research and a shared passion for learning about and getting involved with the Business and Finance world.
This initiative was born from our belief that students should have a
platform to engage with real-world issues beyond the classroom, and to contribute to conversations shaping the future of finance in the MENA region. Whether you’re here out of curiosity or a deep-rooted interest in finance, we hope you find insights that challenge your thinking and spark new ideas!
We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this first edition, and we’re excited to see how this publication evolves in the issues to come.
Sincerely,
Jana and Hritika
Words from our editors
Welcome to the first edition of the MENA Finance Review — your window into the future of finance in the Middle East. From Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 fintech surge to the UAE’s race toward a cashless economy, the region is becoming a hub of digital innovation powered by blockchain, AI, and cryptocurrency.
At the same time, Islamic finance is stepping onto the global stage, blending ESG principles with ethics, profit, and stability. In this issue, we uncover the rise of fintech ecosystems, the challenges of digital banking, and the disruptive role of venture capital and AI. Together, these forces are rewriting the rules of finance across MENA and beyond.
Edited by Aalya Deorari, Malishka Bhasin, Dishita Gupta, this review bridges bold ideas with real-world trends to help you stay ahead in a rapidly evolving economy.

Words from the Director and Publication Manager
The MENA Finance Review has been an instant passion project for the both of us from the very start! We lead the Review as Director and Publishing Manager, shaping its vision, editorial direction, and execution from start to finish.
Hence, we lead the Review with a shared commitment to academic clarity, intellectual discipline, and consistency in quality.
The written word is something we have always found to hold an extraordinary amount of power, perhaps the most. Our writers have curated for you some fine pieces to share what exactly is going on in the world of finance and what exactly you need to know about it. Hence, this platform aims to be the kingpin for students who are inquisitive about financial literacy and current affairs in the MENA region. Our newest issue is available on the blog tab in the menu.
Happy reading!
